Answers:

What are the available dates for a Legends camp?

Flexibility

Organizations signing with the Legends organization for a soccer camp can have their pick of available summer weeks for the event. The camps are half-day with a session conducted from 9-12 am and another from 1-4 pm each day. Options are available for both half-day and full day camps.

Do you provide coaching education to help the coaches from our club carry the camp development on throughout the year?

Coaches Clinic

On one evening during the week there will be a coaching clinic for club coaches. This guarantees that the unique, “Legends”, approach can be perpetuated by the host organization’s coaches throughout the year.

Year Round Support

All club coaches will receive regular e-mail updates on the Legends unique coaching philosophy on a monthly basis throughout the year. These updates will help the club coaches to understand the Legends philosophy and give them practical advice on how to run practice sessions that maximize the creative development of the players. Access will also be available to the Kansas City Legends coaching staff, including Coaching Director Andy Barney, for advice on any aspect of the club coaching process.

To what degree does a player get more development in a Legends soccer camp?

During a one week camp Legends trained players receive 500-600% more developmental touches in the clutch skills for the same money or less than a traditional camp program.

Add this to the fact that the coaching methods used by the KC Legends have been more successful in preparing players for their collegiate career than other premier clubs in the nation and the reasons for hosting a Legends Soccer Camp are unshakeable.

What different camps do the Legends organization offer for our players and what do they cost?

What makes the Legends coaching staff better than that of another camp organization?

Coaching Staff

There are many ways for players to improve their skills, however one of the very best is to learn from people who have grown up playing, watching and coaching the game.

The Legends coaching staff is the only staff trained in the unique methods of using the two skills of dribbling and shooting to teach each and every participant to be a “big-play maker” in the game situation. Each coach has been extensively trained in the Legends curriculum and can both demonstrate and teach the very difficult techniques that form the core of the unique training philosophy.

The Legends Director of Coaching – Andy Barney was the founder and brains behind Challenger Sport’s/British Soccer Camps which is the USA’s largest camp company. Andy left British Soccer Camps 16 years ago and, after 16 years of developing the unique Legends curriculum and proving its effectiveness with the Kansas City Legends Soccer Club Andy is bringing his vastly more enjoyable, developmental and beneficial approach to the nation in the form of summer camps and ongoing, year round, club coaching support. The Legends camp staff have spent their lives involved in soccer in the US and many years immersed in the Legends style of play and coaching. The result of this one-of-a-kind experience is a camp program based upon a unique teaching methodology and a program of activity which promotes the maximum learning and creative skill development through fun, personal challenge, maximum participation and constant positive feedback.

As any youth organization knows, selecting an outside agency to be trusted with the education, care and well being of its youth is a major decision. It is also one that cannot be taken without thoroughly checking that the prospective camp company provides everything that is necessary to execute the highest level of instruction, provide the utmost care for each child and at the same time protect the interests of the host organization. Unlike many other camp organizations the Legends camp coaches have all been personally involved in the Legends club for many years. These are all individuals with a long involvement with the club and a proven track record of mature, positive interaction with children.

Does your organization exchange a soccer camp registration in return for hosting a coach for the week?

Hosting a Coach

This is one of the most popular elements of the Soccer Camp program experience.

The Legends coaches on your camp will stay with local families in your community for the duration of the camp week. In return, not only does the family earn a free place on camp, but more importantly they enjoy a unique week sharing perspectives, learning about soccer and building lasting friendships with our staff. For the soccer playing children of the host household the experience of sharing their home and developing a close friendship with a Legends camp coach creates a positive lifetime memory.
